Why Did Jesus Come To The Earth?
Hello all:
Let me start by wishing you all a Merry Christmas!
Yes, I know there are those who celebrate this time of the year in other ways; yet, I am staunch proponent that this is the believer’s time of year to shout from the rooftops our recognition of Jesus’ birth.
Some may ask, “What’s the big deal about Jesus coming to earth anyway”?
Jesus came to earth to thwart Satan’s plan to forever separate us from the Father. The Father in His love for us devised a strategy to reconcile us to Himself in spite of Adam’s sin of disobedience. The strategy is Jesus’ life, death on the cross, burial, and resurrection.
We see in Colossians 2:13-15 “And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”
Maybe it’s difficult for you to think of Jesus defending you.
Try something more practical. Most of us remember a school or neighbor bully that tormented us. Think of Jesus as the Master Bully Defender. Ask Jesus to come into your life (Romans 10: 9-11) and ask Him to help you to live according to the bible. Then, watch Jesus keep Satan out of your neighborhood, your home, and even your mind!
Oh, how wonderful He is!
