I open this post with scripture. I put in more than one version for your consideration.
Colossians 3:4 (KJV) — When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Colossians 3: 4 (NKJV) — When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
Do ponder the premise that is held within this scripture: Christ is our life.
I have been a born-again Christian for 25+ years. Yet, I have just started to meditate on this idea only in the last 6-9 months. Is Christ my life? Are all my actions reflective of Him? Is His character seen in my everyday actions? Do I act as though if I had no Christ, I would stop breathing? If Christ is the very essence of my existence, shouldn’t I be able to say yes to all the questions above?
Is Christ your life?
Had you considered that He should be? Often, we think of our lives consisting our education, careers, hobbies, achievements, church work, and/or our families. Yet as reflected in Colossians 3:4, Christ = your life.
* If you are living to tell of Christ, you show His love and His precepts in your daily actions, then you’re on the right track.
* If you rarely behave in this manner, pray and ask for His help to improve.
* If you have never thought of Christ in this manner, I challenge you to shift your thinking. Accept Him into your life as your personal Savior, and then include Christ in your thoughts and actions.
For if Christ is our life and He is not entrenched in the core of our souls, no wonder we are a people so undone!
