We frequently use the phrase “scared to death” in a joking manner, but if you discount this use of the phrase, most of us will agree that the discussion of death makes few of us laugh.
Understand though that you need not fear death. While we have to physically die*, our existence does not stop here.
The scripture gives us to know that Jesus Christ defeated death when He died on the cross for our sins and took away the punishment of sin. In a previously taped Family Radio broadcast of the late Dr. Robert A. Cook, Dr. Cook commented, “Those who have the hardest time dying are those who neglected God most in this life.”
If you’ve neglected getting to know Jesus Christ as your Savior it is not too late. For the new in Christ and the seasoned in Christ, savor that we will one day go home to be with the Lord. The grave or death will not hold us back! We will be resurrected from the grave and live forever with the Lord.

* For those of you who believe that we don’t have to physically die but that we saints can bypass death and go straight to heaven , I am not ignoring the concept of the rapture. The discussion of the ” rapture” is for another day.
