Did You Get Some Lumps Out?

Hello all:
I frequently speak to family and friends about getting delivered from a bad habit or negative way of thinking. I said this recently to a family member and she said, “You oughta stop saying you need to be delivered. Just be stable for a while.”

My justification was that I feel stable but that I need to keep asking for God’s help to stay stable.

At first, she made feel self-conscious for admitting that I frequently ask God for help. And then hours after the conversation was over,  I began to wonder if I was  asking God for too much of His help.

God brought to mind that it was okay to ask for deliverance. Plus, God brought to my mind that deliverance was like lumps in a cake.

A cake may turn out okay with lumps in it; but it’s much better if you first get all the lumps out before you bake that cake.

We too, can have salvation but our life and our witness will be so much better if  we get the lumps out.

So no matter if your lump is: a bad attitude,  having difficulty getting along with others, lying, cheating, or whatever, ask for deliverance.

We all need to rid ourselves of a few lumps! Share which lump He got out you!

  1. Way to go! I am glade you are willing and deeply striving for deliverance because I can relate. It isn’t always fun when God points out a sin that we don’t really find all that easy to repent for. However, when we do and He completley cleanes us from that and brings us into healing, our lives change soo much. Our amount of peace of mind is no longer in the state it once was. We are transformed in His Glory. If you read Malaci 4:2,(Amplified) it may shine some “light” on the situation.

We should chat again some day soon!

  2. This is my first visit here, but I will be back soon, because I really like the way you are writing, it is so simple and honest.

  3. Congrats on the 1000 hits!!! And I suggest that you stop buying buying boxed cake and make it from scratch.

  4. I ask each day for help. People look all around for answers to problems I believe that we are blessed when we make a habit of looking up 1st for help.

    1. I like that thought “Looking up” for help. This reminds me of the scripture in Psalm 121 “I will look to the hills from whence cometh my help; my help cometh from the Lord”. (Paraphrase of KJV)
