Be True Especially To Yourself!

Hey, Debra here! At Renaissance Works, I am looking to offer products and services that mingle my creative side, my belief that we should strive to be better, with my Christianity. Look here for integrity, creativity, and empowerment!

I ‘ve been thinking about the concept of lying. Often we tell children to tell the truth, We tell others to keep their word. You know our parents or grandparents would say, “Your word is your bond”!

But what about when we make promises to ourselves and don’t keep them? Year after year, we say that we will do this or that, yet the task is not fulfilled.

Just as we keep promises to others, is not it crucial that we keep the promises that we make to ourselves?

  1. This is a fascinating question. The lies we tell ourselves. The excuses we tell ourselves and others to justify our lack of commitment to self is wreckless abandonement. We suffer and those around us, for not holding ourselves accountable to doing what’s best for us. We can’t truly become all that God has us to be unless we operate in the truth.
Thank you for encouraging this personal reflection.
