Hello all:

My name is Debra.  Let me start by telling you a little about me: I live on the East Coast in the United States, I am a librarian and have been a born-again Christian for 25+ years.

Learning how to use the power of words to positively influence others has become fundamental in my life. It is this principle that has led me to where I am in life today and is a basic concept which I believe will lead me to positively impact generations in the future.

I  hold two Master’s Degrees from Drexel University of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: one in Technical and Scientific Communications (1993) and the other in Library Science (2005). My education and willingness to try new opportunities has shaped me into a renaissance woman. I have been a telemarketer, lab technician, Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Arts and Crafts Coordinator, and Vacation Bible School Director. I am currently an author, artist, minister, Children’s Librarian, storyteller, and the founder and owner of Renaissance Works.

As the future unfolds, I look to hone most of what I currently do and create some keepsakes for the roles that drop away.  Thanks for joining me.

  1. Debra, I tried your suggestion for getting e-mail updates and it worked! Joni Tada, quadraplegic for at least 30 years, says “I think life is supposed to be hard.” She knows more than anyone else would.

  2. Lovely Ms. Debra,

Now I have a better idea of what you have been working on. Thank you for all your prayers, past and future. I trust that blessings will gather round you like the leaves in fall.

    Love, MS

    1. What a lovely thought: blessings gathering around me like the leaves in Fall. 🙂
You are welcome for the prayers.
      Visit soon and often.
      Debra

  3. Hi Debra! It was great meeting you and talking to you this past weekend at Ship. May God continue to bless and keep you as you endeavor to do His will for your life.

    1. Yes, I yearn to be fulfilling God’s will for my life. I do not want to get before the Master
and not hear a “well done thy good and faithful servant”.

  4. Debra,
Congratulations with your new blog!! Here are some quotes for you and your readers to ponder:

“When I hear somebody sigh, “Life is hard,” I am always tempted to ask, “Compared to what?””
    – Sydney J. Harris

“Life is just a chance to grow a soul.”
    – A. Powell Davies

“True religion is real living; living with all one’s soul, with all one’s goodness and righteousness.”
    – Albert Einstein
